Customise your own comprehensive yearly maths program.
We’ve got the Australian Curriculum covered
Covering the content strands
iMaths Topics are like content units – they correspond with the content strands of the Australian Curriculum and give students plenty of opportunities to explore Number and Algebra, Measurement and Geometry, and Statistic and Probability.
Covering the proficiency strands
The investigations will give you a comprehensive picture of how well your students are really achieving in the proficiency strands of the Australian Curriculum: Understanding, Fluency, Problem Solving and Reasoning.
Every class is different
iMaths provides everything you need to tailor a maths program that caters to the strengths and interests of your students. Never again will you feel like you’re having to fit all your students into the same box.
Planning made easy
Planning your yearly program is simple with the iPlanner’s intuitive drag-and-drop interface. iPlanner keeps track of what you have taught and what you have left to teach, allowing you to adjust your plan at any time.
Cater to diverse student abilities and promote higher-order thinking skills.
Project and teach
Make sure you and your class are on the same page – use iMaths Online to project the Topic pages in your classroom. This tool is essential for whole-class teaching sessions, allowing you to guide students through vital information on new maths concepts.
More than just a pretty book
The clean, full-colour design of the iMaths Student Books give students clear visual clues to the important information on each page. As an added bonus, all activities are carefully graded, making it even easier for you to monitor student progress.
We recognise that it’s vital to cater to students of varying abilities, whether it’s finding ways to extend the more advanced students, or support those who need extra help. At iMaths Online you’ll find downloadable differentiation pages for each Topic across three levels: support, consolidation and extension. What a relief!
Solve the problem of problem solving
Many students find problem solving difficult because they don’t know how to tackle the question confronting them. The iMaths Student Book contains scaffolded problem solving strategies, which give students the ammunition they need to become confident and competent problem solvers. Appropriate problem solving tasks then allow them to practise these strategies in the context of the Topics.
Use critical and creative thinking skills within real-life mathematical contexts.
Cater for every interest
Whether you have budding scientists, artists, athletes, gardeners or keen shoppers in your class, you will find something for everyone in the 12 Investigations that iMaths provides at each year level. Prepare to be amazed as your students engage in higher-order thinking and conduct fantastic discussions about problems and solutions.
Make maths meaningful
iMaths Investigations turn reluctant maths students into eager participants. Each Investigation is designed to engage and motivate students, and show them how the Topics they have been learning can be used to solve everyday problems. They are also well scaffolded, allowing students to complete the Investigation step by step.
Written by teachers, for teachers
Guiding students through each Investigation is easy with the Teacher Book, which provides comprehensive teaching notes, planning information, problem solving opportunities, work examples and solutions for every Investigation. All Investigations have been road tested in real classrooms by real teachers and students, so you can be sure they work.
Your whole class online
iMaths Online is an online teacher resource area and is complemented by iMaths Kids, our online student area. A single class access code grants your students exclusive access to the online resources they need to complete the Investigations, whether they are at school or at home.
iMaths Online provides dozens of downloadable BLMs specifically designed to complement the Investigations. These can be printed out in the classroom, or accessed at home by your students.
iMaths Online also contains links to carefully curated websites – guaranteed to be safe for children – that provide additional information and resources needed to complete the Investigations.

iMaths provides the tools to easily determine an overall maths result for your students.
Assessing the content strands
The iMaths Tracker Book provides structured assessment items for each maths Topic. These items are divided into two groups: Know questions assess students’ basic knowledge of the concept; Apply questions assess the application of the knowledge in a variety of contexts.
Assessing the proficiency strands
Our carefully-written A–E rubrics describe the process students go through to complete each Investigation. This allows easy assessment of students’ proficiency in understanding, fluency, problem solving and reasoning. They also give students and parents a clear understanding of what is required at each standard, from A–E.
Answers for everything!
Answers to all Tracker Book activities, Investigations, Student Book activities, Problem Solving Tasks, Challenges and Mental Computation activities are provided in the Teacher Book.
