Ideas for using the Differentiation Tasks

iMaths 7/4/15

Note: iMaths is in its final year and will be discontinued at the end of 2024. If you’re looking for a primary maths resource written for the Australian Curriculum Version 9.0, explore Maths Trek.

iMaths Online includes a set of Differentiation Tasks for every Topic. Typically, each set has a support, consolidation and extension task. Here’s just some of the ways you can use the Differentiation Tasks to enhance your maths lessons.

For assessment: Use the Differentiation Tasks at the conclusion of an Investigation to help assess students’ understanding of the concepts they applied. Or simply use the Differentiation Tasks as tests throughout the year.

For revision: Allocate a Differentiation Task when you want to revise a Topic. This is ideal for Investigations that include Topics you have taught earlier in the year.

For homework: Assign a Differentiation Task for homework after teaching a Topic. It is a great way to reinforce the concepts learnt that day.
