Informing end-of-year results with iMaths

iMaths 1/9/18

“teacher-at-desk“

Note: iMaths is in its final year and will be discontinued at the end of 2024. If you’re looking for a primary maths resource written for the Australian Curriculum Version 9.0, explore Maths Trek.

Here’s how you can use the range of iMaths assessment resources to inform each student’s end-of-year results.

Tracker Book The Student Assessment Profile, at the back of the Tracker Book, provides a clear overview of a student’s knowledge and understanding of the year’s Topics.

The Problem Solving Tasks section of the Tracker Book provides an indication on how students apply problem-solving strategies. Don’t forget, there is more than one way to correctly solve a problem! Use the Problem Solving reference sheet for a list of the key and supporting strategies students may use to solve each task.

End-of-Year test The End-of-Year test includes questions from all three Australian Curriculum content strands (i.e. Number and Algebra, Measurement and Geometry, and Statistics and Probability).

If you haven’t yet conducted this test, log in to iMaths Online and navigate to the Prep & Planning section to download the test and answer pack.

Investigation rubrics Students’ Investigation rubrics from the past year will give you a comprehensive insight into their understanding, fluency, problem-solving and reasoning skills. Don’t forget, the criteria in the Reasoning rows are given greater weight in a student’s overall result for each Investigation.

Using this bank of evidence, along with your own judgement, you can determine each student’s overall A–E ranking in maths.
