The Spelling Masterclass is a comprehensive full-day workshop that equips participants with the skills and confidence required to effectively teach spelling.

The Masterclass has been specifically designed to give primary school teachers:

• an in-depth knowledge of the English Sound System and the Spelling System, including phonemic awareness, synthetic phonics, morphology and etymology
• proficiency in translating this knowledge into effective teaching practice
• confidence in their ability to deliver a systematic, explicit and cumulative spelling program
• awareness of how to assess students’ spelling progress.

Workshop schedule

The workshop is designed to fit into a regular school day 8:30 am to 3 pm (with morning tea and lunch breaks included).
