Available for Years F to 7, Placement Tests assess students’ understanding of phonemic and language concepts. Each test also includes:
These tests have replaced the formerly titled Readiness Test and End-of-Year Assessment. For example, if assessing a Year 4 class at the start of the year use the Year 4 Placement Test (which contains Year 3 content), if assessing Year 4 at the end of the year, use the Year 5 Placement Test (which contains Year 4 content).
Students will practise the spelling of List and Extension Words and build familiarity with the common graphemes that represent the 43 sounds in Australian English – all by playing these fun new games.
Unjumbler
Help a duckling cross treacherous streams by correctly ‘unjumbling’ graphemes in List or Extension Words.
Grapheme Trek
Steer your rocket through space on the hunt for the correct grapheme to complete each List or Extension Word.
For Foundation to Year 3 we have compiled a list of Recommended Stories that feature the focus sound for each Unit. Students will love how story time is now part of their Sound Waves lesson.
